    Lower ball joint adjustment

Interesting that they can be adjusted, first I’ve seen like that. I’d agree that a light snugging to remove the little bit of play should be sufficient.

    Need cooling help please

Nice work Mike, reassembling it all should be great fun… ;) I would suggest a stud kit for the pan, it would make it easier for you to align the gaskets and pan working from underneath like that. I used a Canton Racing kit from Summit. CTR-22-360.

    Need cooling help please

Mike, you might want to give Dennis Olthoff a call, or someone else with lots of SPF experience, he can probably recommend the best way for you to proceed.

    RCR40 cooling system tube insulation

The tubes definitely appear to be CRS material, no idea what grade of CRS though. My tubes are wrapped with Kevlar header wrap.

    Compact Distributer

Randy, I think you’ll be okay with the large cap MSD on a 302 based motor and stack injection. The wire terminals of the large cap MSD on my 351W based motor with much taller deck height did touch the firewall, so I swapped over to the small cap configuration to provide clearance. Both caps have...

    GT40 - Radiator Fan Shroud

Thanks to Photobucket benevolence, I guess we aren’t privy to Randy V’s original photo array… FWIW Randy F, living in FL with high heat and increasingly pervasive traffic, my biggest concern is the same as yours. As such, I’ve been reconfiguring my entire cooling system to preclude...

Outstanding Rob, best of luck with it! I’ve seen a few Gelscoe 40s up close, they are superb.

    Dolly size for RCR40 chassis

Btw Randy, the only reason I mentioned the QJs was to provide you with workable dimensions for a dolly. 5’ L x 38” W should be perfect dolly dimensions when positioned as shown in photos.

    Dolly size for RCR40 chassis

Looks like a lot of work and expense to make something less mobile than QJs…;) I got mine like new on eBay for around $1K. They lift the car 23” and I hang them on the wall when not in use.

    Dolly size for RCR40 chassis

Randy, FWIW, l currently have my car up on Quick Jacks. They measure 5’ long and they are spaced approx 38” apart to the outer edges. You can get an idea how the car is positioned from the photos. I removed the engine and transaxle while it was up on the QJs, and it’s very stable either way.
