My Porsche shop forman told me that the 996 is a good trans, but you had to rebuild at about 40K miles and wasn't cheap. He wants me to find a Boxster S. Says don't have to flip it as it is a mid engine setup (not cheap either). I'm planning to rebuild my 930 posi unit as it will be cheaper than the prices I have seen lately.
