good morning,

I had a chance to speak to David Piper when they were here in Cape Town and asked him how they arranged the accident with the 917 in the movie "Le Mans".

the car was radio controlled and the control for the throttle went astray.
they got the perfect accident for the movie, and what I did not know: it was a 917 body on a Lola T70 chassis.

look closely and for a split secong one can detect the intake system during the accident, which is clearly not from a 917.

the rather destroyed a "cheapy" Lola! ;-)
