| Re: Painting my \'40 All of the above is good advise. I did my own paint. First I went to a PPG paint school. Than, I talked my local car painter to let me rent out his booth. Between renting the booth and materials I'm out about $3000 and several hundred hours of sanding. My sons refuse to sand anymore! You can do it yourself and save a lot of money, but be prepared to do the prep work and obtain the necessary skills and equipement. I've redone the front nostrils 3 times but it looks the way I want it to. With the HVLP guns there is little overspray so it is easier on the garage. Don't forget the positive pressure respirator as your health is priceless. Good luck! |
