Well, there it is. Way to go Autoweek...

Despite the persistent fog around certain famous cars re-built with authentic and historical components and each, in their own way "original" or "part original" it does kinda look like FS esq has made a monkey out of several unfortunate collectors.

Interesting that the FIA are now getting involved with their Historical Passports etc, although even to get an HP for a deliberate "clone" is some kind of official recognition.

The new FIA rules will surely allow some forum members who are chasing extreme originality with their replicas to gain these Passports, yes? (But not, I hasten to add with any intention to defraud but for recognition of historical accuracy). This will tend to give some provenance to such replicas maybe and thus enhance their value perhaps?? especially those who are replicating the monocoque steel chassis at some considerable labour and expense.

Whaddya reckon?
