Re: Any Opinion on Dax GT40?

I can second all that Dave said

I've also got one and they are not lightweight (About 1150 kg at SVA with Rover Efi compared to about 980kg for a Tornado Ford (Ali head) but mine kolds a lot less fuel!)

Chassis is solid and thick metal walls on the tube

Fiberglass is thick - almost 1cm thick at base of windscreen
GTD Front screen fits as replacement so that is not too odd ball

The Dax seats are not period identical but can be replaced with others

Suspension was done by Tojero and is different to GTD etc on where the arms attach as they go almost straight forward from rear hub to back of cockpit.

DAX is a friendly company and will assist where they can but remember they sold the project about 15 years back (Rumour was it was sold to someone going to set it up in India to get better labour rates - he flew somewhere over a weekend and the plane flew into the side of a mountain - the project was then tied up in Indian customs for years)

What other questions do you have?

Ian
