The 924 transaxle is based on the AUDI 088. The only good thing is the early unit (76-77.5) has a 3.44 ring and pinion. I have thought about what it would take to extend the pinion shaft so 5th gear could be used. Then it could be used in the 016 box. I haven't come across one yet.

The Porsche transaxles do not have a provision for the slave cylinder and do not have pilot bearing diameter machined onto the input shaft. I guess this could be done but you would need to use a bearing instead of a bushing because the machined end would not be hardened.
