me to figure out how to do things that i did not think i could do.
i have had a great deal of help from jim c and other forum members
on and of site and all the photos that you blokes put on the site
make it like i have a build manual to work from so thankyou so hear goes
it is a venom chassis and body windsor 393 strocker scm cleveland
heads running through o1e six speed body is a bit rough but they are
still making fibreglass so all good.hopefully i will attatch some photos
but i am better whith tin snips than a computer

Well Well Mr Goldsmith.
Let me be the first to say welcome to the forum.

Putting photos up will be another peice of tech you will have to hurdle.

I really like the Venom Chassis and suspension design. Particularly the rear suspension as it improves on the design of the original both in the upright as well as the lower control arms. What does strike me as odd is the lack of rear diagonal support tubes for the factory integral roll bar. Instead it appears that they plan on supporting all of these potential forces with Rod Ends on threaded tubes.
The car is coming together quite nicely!

thanks for all the kind words fellas the venom chassis is very basic as it comes and there was no suspension components available when i bought it so you are on your own which is o/k because the help that you can get from this site and its members is fantastic and makes anything doable randy all suspension was made by me
after doing a clubman rear a similar way and after seeing
jim c front and rear setup and it seemed easier to make as i am rather lazy
the chassis has been modified a lot by me the roll bar and
diagonal bars i made to give some extra stiffness i know they
are not ideal but i wanted to have them easy to remove for
access around engie
perhaps ther maybe some more venom builders out there with more advanced cars to show us i really like the photos that you guys upload because it is easier to understand how to go about making things .

Chris,

Great looking 40! I have to ask - what tires, make and sizes, are using? Are they highway approved or purely race rubber? Also what block and heads (Cleveland?) are those? Those intake ports look huge!

Tom

Chris,

Sorry -I just reread your first post on the engine and saw that they were Cleveland heads. Still interested in whether the block is aftermarket and head supplier.

Thanks,
Tom

hello tom tyres are 235/15 front 325/15 rear mickey/thompson
road legal but very soft engine is dart 9.2 windsor 393 strocker
heads are designed cast machined by a friend of mine who is
into gt falcons over hear they look identical to factory heads
on outside but totaly different inside he makes the heads in
different sizes up and over 800 h/p my little strocker made
527/lb of torque and 602 h/p he also makes inlet manifolds
as well he goes under the name scm engine developments
he does have a website well worth a look.
thanks for your intrest tom

Chris, is that a 'clevor' style motor? I took a look over on the scm site and it looks like all cleveland style motors on there.

I have always liked the Boss/302 configuration and had heard of suppliers making intake manifolds for this setup.

Thanks Chris. Are you doing anything to the 01e to handle that torque or will the stock internals handle it?

hello mark yes it is a clevor style based on a 351 windsor the inlet manifold is tfc for cleveland with extra material welded on valley front
then machined offf to suit the windsor profile i know it is very tall but
had to go with something for dyno runs i am building a cross ram efi
8 stack hopefully for next dyno run
tom i have not done anything yet to beef up the o1e and understand
that the torque of the engine may give me some greif but perhaps i may have to control my right foot . i also have a six cylinder t5 behind an
260 kw ls1 in a clubman and its standing up o/k so heres hoping
but we all learn by our mistakes
