Achingly slow progress, but I've gotten a local expert to help out. Torn down for him to look it over.

Does anyone know the part numbers of the motor mounts that Olthoff uses to mount a SBF?

Additionally, what starter is required for the Safir clutch package? It has 142 teeth, but a smaller diameter.

Ron,

Dennis uses a Prothane Chevy big-block mount with a custom bracket to mount to the block.

You can use a urethane Ford small block mount that is dimensionally the same as a "2287" mount. The "2287" number is used by lots of aftermarket manufacturers. Summit can cross the "2287" into an Energy Suspension or other brand urethane mount. The brackets supplied by SPF are set to that a standard type "through bolt" type mount as opposed to the FAV solid tubular type mount.

Ron, I have a pair of the Ford mounts Rick is referring to. I went with the Chevy Prothane mounts. The pair I have are the Energy Suspension brand. Here's the link:

Make an offer if you're interested.

So after coming apart to come together, we're making progress. Big thanks to my installation expert or it would likely be still waiting as a roller.

Now that's a proper head and intake! I tried to get Borla to machine my stack inj manifold with a 10 deg angle and they wouldn't do it. Also, the current fuel rail design would present a problem. Love the look and can't wait to hear it!

Should have a bunch of pics later this week. I have the installation expert coming up for a 3 day session. Hopefully he can complete the fuel, water and electrical, change the stub hubs on the transaxle and complete the drivetrain, and other miscellaneous and sundry.

Big open items are the headers and wheels.

My man man Paul Whitlock is making steady progress. He has done some clever things with the oil breathers and fuel plumbing.

Having an expert builder who’ll entertain my crazy notions and preferences has really enhanced the experience for me.

That looks tremendous. The oil cooler location should be far better than the factory location, I believe you will get better airflow

Hi Ron,

Following your post since the beginning I was wondering what is the small aluminium box at the rear of your left fuel tank ? Is it an intermediate small fuel tank (as I have on my GT40) ?

Qst GT40 - 1.jpg

How did you connect your 2 fuel pumps ? One on each fuel tank ? or both on your left fuel tank ?

Thanks, OliveR

OliveR,
Yes, it is a small surge tank. I believe Paul's plan is to have a pump for that tank and each of the Stewart Warners pick up from the surge tank and each pump to the fuel pressure regulator.

Best,

Ron
