Need new forum software!!!

Hey,

We need to switch this forum over to some new software, anyone have any suggestions? I'm looking for some new software that will import from what we have now and offers image hosting etc. - new standard feature set.

Someone months and months ago offered to do this but I now cannot remember their name. I thought it was someone with the GT40 Enthusasts Club?

http://www.yabb.info/

It's PHP based, it's fast, it's stable, it uses MySQL, it was reworked by Ralph Button...

...and it's FREE!!!

It takes about an hour to set up, you can port over the old data, too!

Your pal,
Meat.

That look pretty good Meat, I will start checking it out. Looks like the basic package is free, which is a good start since we a donations only board at the moment but the other bits can be added. Might have a new board soon, but I am reluctant to change before I go on trips. Maybe over Christmas.

Re: Need new forum software!!!

Ron,

twas me to whom you referred!

My suggestion was phpbb
www.phpbb.com

I have used it, it works, it is stable, and best of all, there is an import facility from the UBB system currently used...

Shout if you need any help which ever way you decide to go...

Regards

Re: Need new forum software!!!

Neil,

Yes it was, long time no email! Good, I will check this one out and see what we can do. I don't want to switch until I have enough time to make sure it runs smoothly and since I'm traveling soon I'll have to wait. Thanks for the post!
