GULF Memorabilia

As most of you know Gulf has re-emerged in Great Britain and Europe and last year i was able to gain backing from them for my GT40 and LMK Porsche 917. I work flat out for them at grass roots level and i shall forever be gratefull to them for all the friendliness and very professional support they give me.
Without going into all the things that go on with us i am in a position to say that my business GTA/Gulf Racing has been provisionally asked if it would take on the entire promotional sales business for Gulf Oil UK.
This is a great honour and major responsibility and if discussions proceed well i shall be in a position to supply genuine, copyrighted and quality Gulf memorabilia from clothing through to decals including very special editions.
The highly successfull show at the NEC last month showed just how much demand there is for the historic Gulf brand and you forum readers will have the opportunity to request personal preferences for products.I have received many private mails requesting goodies and i told you all to be patient in a previous posting. Clothing was most requested followed by badges, decals, posters, flags and banners and models. As i will be able, if this goes ahead ,to order stock if there is sufficient demand please let me know what you might be interested in.
Remember, this will be genuine produce, NOT spurious, as are many of the products being offered nowadays.
As they say, watch this space, and i,ll let you know how things go.

Regards,
Graham @ GTA/Gulf Racing.

Graham

I would be interested in getting some badges that would be suitable for race suits as well as decals that were suitable for car windows (for my wife's jeep aka my tow vehicle!)

Re: GULF Memorabilia

Martin,
No problem regarding window stickers but if you intend to sew badges onto a racing overall BEWARE. Strict fire proofing regulations now do not allow for badges to be sewn on any old how .They must be fire proof and fixed with fire resistant thread. We will be doing a full range of cloth fireproof badges but do read regulations.
Regards,
Graham.

Re: GULF Memorabilia

Graham congrats on your business venture!!!!
I'm definetly interested in Gulf products. I'm having Gulf GT40 built as we post. I'll be looking for all decals that were on the original gulf cars, horseshoes, emblems etc. Keep us all posted. Is there a seperate web site to go to? Anxiously awaiting for these products

Re: GULF Memorabilia

Graham, having worked for JW Automotive from 1970 and then with Gulf Research Racing on the 917's and DFV Mirages, I have an acute interest in Gulf memorabilia. I still have a couple of the original Side flashes reading Gulf-Porsche & Gulf-Mirage. Also the large Gulf roundels and original diaries and match books from 1972. Interesting to read about the flame retardent sew-ons as i still have a couple of those hanging about. My main interest would be in the clothing items as my orange mechanics shirts, light blue cover-alls and an original Team Gulf anorak were stolen in a burglary. Along with the missing items was a Porsche Zippo cigarette lighter, but being a non-smoker this was only of intrinsic value, although it galls one to have their property violated. By the way, I tried your e-mail but couldn't get through.
Presently, I'm involved in reproducing a mkii
in Cape Town along with what seems a lot of others. Good luck with the merchandising venture and great to hear Gulf is back on the map.

Re: GULF Memorabilia

Ken,
Good to read your posting and saddened to hear about your theft. I have heard of no other problems with people Emailing me so please try again if need be. I too have original Gulf items from 1969 and 1970 which, providing the business is viable, will be a basis for the historical side of the memorabilia.
I also have hundreds of original decals from the sixties and seventies, all unused and stored flat and safely, that i saved for that "rainy day" which never seems to come but i can,t bear the thought of peeling them and fixing to something and losing the "originality" !!!!!
In those days every company had stickers and believe me, there are some obscure ones as i,m sure you will recall from those days.
Regards,
Graham @ GTA/Gulf Racing
