Who's GT40 on 85 South, Near Road Atlanta?

Ed and I were traveling down to Birmingham to pick up a Lotus Esprit when a GT40 merged with us on the highway.

We were in a blue 65 Ford Mustang Convertible and we were somewhere in the vicinity of Road Atlanta, maybe one or two exits away. Only stayed on the highway for maybe 1-2 miles then got off at the next exit. First time I'd ever seen a 40 on the road in the US other than someone I knew at the time!

Car was red but I could not ID it for make. I *think* it had blue plates, which might mean MI? I'll have some pics as soon as Ed sends them over to me.

Anyone fess up to being there?
