An Amazing Day

Hello,
I've been lurking and dreaming here for about 3 years. I've had nothing to add so I have never registered. I've only been reading, learning and hoping for a day when I might own a GT40. Looks like the new GT will be my best bet. I've been hooked on the GT40 since 1969 when I was 10 years old.

Hersh was nice to let me fulfil a dream a few months back when he let me sit in his car at the Pavillions in Scottsdale. A dream come true. I'm 6'2" so I've decided to pass on Gordon's cars. However, after seeing Hersh's, I can't imagine anything nicer. Just not comfortable for me. I'm hoping the new GT will be the answer.

Anyway, about today. I had a chance to go through a collectors garage in Scottsdale. What an experience. Inside were the following original cars: #1075, #1076 (both in Gulf livery),a Ferrari P-6 and LM-350, Mazarati Bird Cage, two Daytona Coups, a Shelby Cobra, 1940 Mazarati Indy racer, and, get this, an original Gurney Westlake Eagle (maybe the most beautiful F-1 car ever). There were another 20 cars under wraps. Don't know what they were. Here is the best part: Most of these cars are being readied for the Peble Beach Concourse and the Monterey Historics in August. Being That this years focus is the 100th Aniversary of Ford, this may be one of the best years ever for a trip to Monterey. I encourage all of you to at least consider it.

When I left the garage my head was spinning. I'm going to try to go back with a camara and post some pictures.

Anyway, I hope this information is interesting to you. And, thanks for letting me lurk for 3 years, learn so much and live through you guy's. ...Maybe someday.

Re: An Amazing Day

You should come by and sit in My demo. My engineer is 6'6" and fits comfortably. Hersh's car is set upi for him as he is 5'10".
