Is this a true one?

Hi everybody! I'm new here. This place seems to be cool... so I'm here /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I've seen last friday in Brussels a red GT40... or, at least, I think it's a GT40... but what do YOU think? Is it a real one or a replica.

You can see the pics here on my page http://hobbystage.net/porsche/ety935rs/

Etienne, it looks to be a GTD replica of a Mark I. All of the original Mark Is were right-hand drive, so that would be your first clue.

Hi
The red car is a GTD MK1, rear latch position and size give it away.
The blue car in your album looks to be an original MK1 front and door with a MK11 rear.
The Mk 11 cars had higher front wings and no central NACA duct on the front clip.
Regards
Chris.

So it's kind of like a MkI front end but kind of like a MkII front end /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif Are there any MkIs with a single filler?

The car definitely wants to be a MkII - at least it's trying very hard /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hmmm... OK, there's a photo of 1001 in John Allen's book (Ford GT40) and it only has one filler...

Interestingly, the Don Davis 1012 MkII has 2 fillers.

Say, whatever happened to Marko? This seems like something he could explain...

Thanks a lot for your help guys! Now I know /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
