Info wanted on decal of XGT-1

Hi Guys,
Does anybody have a detailed picture and dimensions of the decal that was on the door (by the hinge)of Alan Mann's yellow XGT-1??. Looks like a rampant lion with rabbit ears ..

Dave,

Jack Launtz, owner of AM XGT-2, and a Forum member, may be

able to help you. His e-mail address is driven@penn.com

Re: Info wanted on decal of XGT-1

Jack Launtz owns original GT40 #AMGT40-2, not XGT-2. See Legate's book, or Ronnie Spain's, for the history of each car. AMGT40-2 had a rather brief history with Alan Mann's team, spending most of its racing life under the ownership of Paul Hawkins. Jack therefore might not have much info on the car's Alan Mann livery to help out with XGT-1.

Thanks guys for the info, Ronnie Spain's book says that XGT-1 was purchased by Rick Nagel and was to be put into a "Shelby American Museum" that he was putting together.Don't know if this happened.
cheers
Dave

Re: Info wanted on decal of XGT-1

Hi Guys,
Mystery solved! I received a mail today from David Griffith to tell me it is the "Terlingua Racing Team" logo of a fierce Jackrabbit.
It was designed by Shelby and featured on many race winners.
This Internet never ceases to amaze!!
cheers Dave
