Rep Power: 6 | Big-@$$ tires. . . At the historics, it was hilarious how big the tires were on the GT40s. Some man was like, "Blah blah blah. . .but these old cars don't have modern technologies such as traction control. . .blah blah blah." I looked at the tires and thought, "That is some HUGE traction control right there!!" I did a search on the forum for tires to see if anyone had some all-weather 15 inch tires, but did not find anything of interest. So. . .anyone got some big-@$$ tires you can get in the wet and on the dry? As in, bigger than a 12 inches or the metric equivalent? Just curious. . .
Also, if you are feeling kind and want to give me a laugh, feel free to direct me to sites such as: www.wowthosearesomehugetires.com www.thesetiresarebiggerthanyourtorso.com
and so on. Have a nice day. |

My friend Roger Kraus can provide them. They are not legal for road use in post 67 cars. www.rogerkrausracing.com
mention my name. |

Rep Power: 15 | Re: Big-@$$ tires. . . I looked at the tires on a couple of the cars. The ones running Goodyear Blue Streaks had 6.00-15s on the front and 8.00-15s on the rear. The ones running Avons did have wider tires, I think, but didn't note the sizes. |

I had Cobras on my Fiero a couple of sets of tires ago. I liked them a lot. They sucked on ice and snow, though...

| Re: Big-@$$ tires. . . The Dunlops are good, I have my second set wearing out now on the car. I like the idea of the blue streaks too but they are distinctly not road legal. Nor are the Hoosiers in the UK. In the US yes, but not in the UK. Good tyre though.
Avon have just bought out a radial 15 inch tyre with a historic looking tread pattern. Not monster wide but very effective from what I have seen. It is road legal. There is to be an article in the next GTD club mag. I think this is the way I am going for my next set of tyres.

Rep Power: 16 | Re: Big-@$$ tires. . . Fran,
Can you give detailed specs of your Dunlops CR65?
We were thinking between the CR65 and the CR82
My actual wheels are Revolution 5 spoke:
9x15 rear
6x15 front
Tires are Cobra Coopers
215x60x15 front
265x50x15 rear

Rep Power: 6 | Re: Big-@$$ tires. . . Anyone know what the wheel/tire specs of the black MK II were with its massive Firestones? I liked how most of the real GT40s had huge rear tires and slenderer front tires. It looked functional like the rest of the vehicle. . . |
