Rep Power: 5 | Hello Hi Guys
Having watched this forum for a number of months now i've finally plucked up enough courage to write my first post
I am about to embark on my biggest challange to date by building a GT40 ( Tornado TS40 due Fed 04 ). I am GT40 crazy but unfortunately i have no mechanical or engineering experiance, except tinkering around with my old lotus esprit. I am really excited about this project and i am hoping that once i get started i will be able to ask what could be basic questions to you guys(i will use the search facility first). I am based in Northampton, UK and would welcome any advise offered.
Many Thanks
Barry |

As a relative newcomer too, both to my GTD40 (11 Oct 03) and the forum (also around then), I can concur that the level of knowledge on the forum about our cars, what makes them go, where to get bits and the history of the marque are all awesome.
We are standing on a World stage, with a very sympathetic audience, whose only requirement is that we should be completely honest in everything we post.
Somewhere out there is someone who has had the same problem, has solved it and is willing to share the experience. What more could you ask? |

Thanks a million, it's so reassuring to get a responce like this through the forum and my private e-mail address.
Chris Parker my TS40 is due Fed 04 and your more than welcome to come and see, I am only 5min off junction 15 M1 and I have on order a basic kit, suspension package and steering.
I also might be interested in one of your gearboxes which you are collecting, (if only from 21 turbo) and yes i have already been waiting eight months for this and i am now counting the minutes.
Mike
If you don't mind i just might take you up on that offer and send you a e-mail when i need help ( THANKS )
Tony

Most of the laughter will be from remembering when we did something laughable although it usually happened in the distant past of at least a week or so :-) Seriously, this is a fun loving group who will go to great lengths to help another enthusiast out. I built a car with 6 photos and a bill of materials as documentation and if hadn't been for people here, I would have been lost.

I have been a member of the GT40 Enthusiasts Club, which is open to all, but offers specific resources to owners of all marques of GT40. I attend the regular local group evenings and this is an excellent way to fill in the knowledge gaps. I've found it to be well worth the money.
