Rep Power: 5 | Still amazing how low a GT40 is compared with other cars. It still amazes me how low a gt40 is compared to other cars on the road - after driving one it makes even most sportscars seem like double decker buses with such high Centre of gravities. It would be interesting to see of any modern manufacterers introduce a sportscar with such a low roofline to lower the centre of gravity further - the new GT is something like 44 inches which is too high in MHO ;-) just look how low my gt is compared to this van which has a lowering kit on!! |

Rep Power: 25 | Re: Still amazing how low a GT40 is compared with other cars Amazing isn't it....I've got one in the garage, but I still love to look at pictures of the flaming things.
I would guess in the US it must be even more pronounced with all those SUV's out there.
I was at a garage just after I bought mine, when the guy in front decided to reverse without looking down, just back. In my panic I couldn't find the horn button so just revved the engine a couple of times...that stopped him! |

Rep Power: 10 | Re: Still amazing how low a GT40 is compared with other cars. MY Daughter came to work with me on Wednesday. She had the day off because of the holiday.
In the afternoon, I took her for a quick ride in the GT40NA.
Her words were somethig like: "I feel like such a midget in this car",,
Of course, here in Kansas, every other vehicle on the road is a pick up truck or SUV, so it is kind of "creepy" to be blasting around with a GT40.
You have to really watch out for people when driving one on the street.
Either they don't see you at all until they about run you over,,,,,,or they do see you and forget to pay attention to what else they are doing. |

I took my wife for a ride and while sitting at a stoplight she looked out her side window, under a semi-trailer stopped next to us and could see the driver of the minivan on the other side! Her comment was "That's just wrong!....your car (GT40) looks like a matchbox car on the street." |
