Rep Power: 58 | How is the forum working for most of you now???? <font color="blue"> Folks, how is the forum working for you now? Most of the bugs are being worked out or I've fixed them. Still haven't got the style sheets down - my recommendation for you is to change under "My Home" the stylesheet to "Use Default" and use the one I've picked. It seems to look the best, although not perfect.
Some things left to do:
*Get right side bar info back up on the Main Index page
*Get "Read All" as a selection at the top of the page
*Font sizes
*Header at top of page with welcome
But other than that I think most things are working - inline images, etc.
Software, to me anyway, is faster and stable. Much better control over events too and options that I'll take advantage of. Hope it is working for all of you, let me know here if you notice or see things that are still broken.

It seems to be making more sense now - Top job.
Although after I've read the new posts in "the ebay marketplce" and "parts for sale" their yellow bulbs don't go white - no matter how many times I reload the page.

I use the last 24 hour feature almost exclusively.
Most of the time I check the board without logging in due to the transient nature of my visits.
The default (not logged in) view does not seem to be able to high/lowlight previously viewed posts.
Once logged in the display settings change (style sheet set to nice look) and high/lowlighting works fine.

Rep Power: 58 | Re: How is the forum working for most of you now???? You guys should probably stay logged in. There is a button that says "remember me" when you login that way you never login again. It doesn't mean that you are always connected, it means that when you come to the page all of your settings will be kept - you know, pages you've viewed, etc. I've never used anything but this and it works well. |

The only problem I have is the Past 24 hours link gives the following message ever since the first change to the later software. I am logged in.
Script: /home/gt40s/public_html/ubbthreads/dosearch.php
Line#: 659

Please use your back button to return to the previous page.
Gobbledegook to me!
Best regards

Rep Power: 9 | Re: How is the forum working for most of you now???? Looks like the option to 'Mark all posts read' is no longer available. That correct? Also, I used to be able to easily tell which posts I had read, they were no longer high-lighted once I read them, till they were again updated. Is that the purpose of the 'folder' icon now?
Thanks,
Tom |

Rep Power: 13 | Re: How is the forum working for most of you now???? Hey, Ron, the only problem I have is with the size of the window. My screen is set for 1024x768, but the new window exceeds that size and I am hanving to scroll right and left to view. IS there a way to set the window size in my display preferences? Old old forum was fine, by the way. I'm just glad you're doing this and not me. |

Is it possible to "jump to first unread post" without clicking the link at the top left of the post ?
Great forum with heaps of good information, really appreciate you time and effort.

Its for everything for me. The table with My home etc seems to be mis-aligned with the logo and then it is kicking the page out, weird Is there anything I can do in my settings, I have had a looka round and can't find anything.

Rep Power: 14 | Re: How is the forum working for most of you now???? Ron,
Same as above for me (wide margins) except it is only on this particular post. All others seem to be fine. I occasionaly had this happen even before the update. Couldn't tell you what caused it.
It appears you have pretty much work out all the bugs so I was waiting to comment. Three things I would like to see, one is the "all read" to the main page which you're already aware. Another is mentioned above as well, regarding the highlighted new\unread post. Finally, when entering a new post I used to go straight to the end of the thread where the new post started. Currently I get sent to the top of the post and have to scroll through to the end.
Seems I have lost, on the "main" page, the number of new post indicators. Last week when the update was new, new unread post were numbered as well as number of new unread topics. I already got attached to that feature and now it has disappeared on me.
All in all fantanstic work, surprising how you can accomplish such a task and still have the forum going on concurrently |
