Rep Power: 5 | Superperformance GT40 at SEMA A friend of mine that attended the SEMA show today in Las Vegas said he saw the SuperPerformance GT40 on display there. I hope to have a picture later today or tomorrow and will post it. It is the MarkIV and he said it has a Chevrolet LS-6 powerplant. Hopefully I will be able to get to the show tomorrow and see it in person. |

See my post on the Factory Five Quasi-GT40 being unveiled at SEMA this week.

What do you call the engine in the Z06?
As far as I know there are different variations of the LS6 block, including both the SB as well as the BB. |

Agree the LS6 is from the Z06.
The new generation from the C6 (currently available) is actually called LS2, and displacement is 6.0. |

Rep Power: 6 | Re: Superperformance GT40 at SEMA Fran,
You obviously know more than I do. But this would be the sport version of the C6 aka new Z06, right? The standard C6 LS2 now is already as strong as the old LS6 with 405 HP, so an upgrade to the LS7 raceblock would make sense.
I wonder if these will be available as crate engines?

| Re: Superperformance GT40 at SEMA The LS7 will not be the race block as they are completely different...it is a production block but will be dry sumped in the standard road car.
