After two and a half years of poking around in the garage my car is roadworthy. Seattle weather cooperated with a brisk sunny day allowing me to do my first roadtest. After a thorough checkout I spent the afternoon enjoying the road. The first fuel stop resulted in quite a gathering. A sign of things to come.
I can not adequately describe the performance of this car. The throttle reponse is breathtaking. Road manner is very good. Traction is so-so with my 15" Dunlops but they are adequate for the street. With a clear road ahead I must have left close to a hundred feet of rubber on the on-ramp as I accelerated on to the highway! [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] Who said the Audi tranny wouldn't hold up! Time will tell. I look forward to getting some sticky tires on the beast and getting out to the track.
There are a few ergonomic issues to be worked out but nothing major. All in all the car far exceeds my expectation. I look forward to tuning it to it's potential.
Thanks to all for the mountains of help along the way. References, input and advice from members have resulted in a safe build and an incident free road test.
