Wow, is it that easy to get FIA papers these days...?
[/ QUOTE ]
Only if you misrepresent the car, which IMHO is fraud ...
I've heard that this car is actually a highly modified KVA built in the late 1980s. it is fitted with a ZF from a BMW M1, hence the inboard brakes. |

Rep Power: 30 | Re: what replica is this? i am honestly too tempted to link this guy this page forum,to make him understand how not correct he is at all try fraud people this way.Surely he will be helped in this sale from the stunning beauty of the car(not his one..i think at gt40 in general),and i will not be so surprised if he will also found someone ready to pay really that amount (or 170.000 euros..O_o)for this one.
I dunno if it is also possible he believes in first to the lies he says, and I am not so sure he really knows what kinda car that one is.
let me know...should i link this page or better just to stop that and keep all this in our reminds as another of the many frauds we will found when we search such cars from people that only needs money?.
It is incredible anyway....

Rep Power: 8 | Re: what replica is this? That's what I thought but shouldn't there be more of a background check into one's claim.
Anyway, don't want to bander this anymore as I suspect it's already been discussed ad nauseum...
Just as an aside, Rob, when you complete the Lola GT, are you going for FIA historical replica status...? |

Rep Power: 16 | Re: what replica is this? I'd stay away from this one, and this guy. Folsk who will tell one lie are happy to tell another as well, there's no end to it. Better to buy something honestly represented. Original my eye. |

Rep Power: 30 | Re: what replica is this? Ok guys,..sorry all but i didnt resist to make this guy note all what we say here in our discussion.
I sent him an email, resuming all what we said here, without offending anyone just let him notes all what we discuss about.
Here enclosed is his reply:
Dear Mr. Sibani,
Thank you very much for your mail and the precious detail. We have looked into
it and have, given your information, we feel uncomfortable keeping this car on our site.
We aim to run a reputable business and therefore seek to take feedback seriously, and act upon it quickly. This car will be taken off the site in the next few days.
With best regards
Greg Khine

Rep Power: 13 | Re: what replica is this? Well done Paul!
It looks like the car's been withdrawn from sale already.
Rick, FIA papers are the plan, although I'd be happy with a road car. Although Eric Broadley drove the first production MK6 to Le Mans in 1963, he concedes that there are some major improvements that need to be re-engineered to make it a useable road car (stronger frame, new rear bulkhead (there wasn't one!), panel shuts/weatherproofing, cooling improvements, etc, etc). Most of these improvements were made to the second production car towards the end of the MK6's life in late 1964 (and these helped with the FIA papers for the first car's rebuild), but they need to be re-engineered into the replica. All good fun. Watch this space some time never...
Cheers! |

Rep Power: 15 | Re: what replica is this? This guy is full of sh*t. I was supposed to purchase this car approximately four years ago. There was no 1058 VIN tag. If my memory serves me right, I negotiated a price of $65k for the car. Arranged shipping and was just about to purchase my airline tickets. The last question I asked him was where did the tub come from? His reply was that the car was no longer available as it was purchased by a collector in France. I may still have some of the pictures he sent me. I would stay away from this guy. Better yet, if someone buys the car I will be your witness when you sue him for fraud. Just let me find the pictures first! |

Rep Power: 30 | Re: what replica is this? It is incredible Gregg.I just do not understand if u mean the car dealer i found or the real owner of the car.
I am not use to insult people..also if i cannot hide if i will be there for real i will surely talk him really really badly than the way i made him this time, just make him note what he was selling.
According from all the guys here say, was also too much pay 65k USD for this car.I dunno what to think also about all the others cars they have in that website for sale, just i use to be sometimes positive with people and so..maybe ( a BIG MAYBE then),they just resell cars from private owners that sometimes try find the one to robber.
This is anyway a very common reality in those countries where nice replicas are so unusual.I see a similar one searching for a Cobra...and Official porsche dealers were trying convince me..a 1982 Sumo Pilgrim Rover V8 very bad in appearence...was an original 1965 Shelby Cobra.
..and they anyway sold the car at 100.000 euros.
it happens,i will never stop to thank the forum for all the infos available.
