Rep Power: 4 | Please Help Me Find This Car My Dads best friend built this car probably eight years ago now. I was lucky enough to see the project from start to finish. It has all Porsche drivetrain, and was built by Nicky Orme. I am trying to find the current owner of the car. If you know he/she please forward my contact info or provide me with some. csheffield0524@aol.com |

Rep Power: 4 | Re: Please Help Me Find This Car Yes, sorry, forgot to mention that part. The car was built in Romford Essex, England. I was born and raised there before moving to the states when I was 16. This car is an incredible piece. The engineering that went into this car is incredible. As far as I know, this is the only GT40 in existance with Porsche drivetrain. Email me if you want to see all the pics.
Thanks again,
Craig. |

Rep Power: 57 | Re: Please Help Me Find This Car Graig, post them up, we'd like to see what it looks like. Never seen a 40 with a flat six, sort of sacrilege if you ask me, but might be cool to see. Once some of the folks here see the chassis they can probably tell you what sort of replica it is which will give you some more clues. And don't be disappointed if the general readership here is not overly impressed - there are some pretty incredbile builds that happen on this site and you might want to have a look around - most GT40s are a pretty incredible piece of engineering to the uninitiatied. |

I would like to meet this man. A true Jekell and Hyde
Sure looks like he was torn between Ford and Porsche |

Rep Power: 20 | Re: Please Help Me Find This Car I like it. The guy had a vison of what he wanted and actually completed it. It's hard to understand why he sold it. I don't think he was trying to build a GT40. I think he did his own thing and customized it to favor cars of the sixties like the Porsche 904 and the GT. You can see by the added scoops and vents that's what he was thinking. It was a good exercise in design.
I hope you find it.

I agree. To each his own. So long as it's well executed
I can appreciate it.

Rep Power: 57 | Re: Please Help Me Find This Car It is definitely different. Not my cup of tea but if the motor makes some decent power then it'll do real well since the cg looks to be low. Like to see it run! |
