exhaust noise limit

My CAV will be going through the SVA test in February. One of the tests will be to measure exhaust noise level at 3/4 maximum power rpm, which works out to be about 3500-4000rpm for my engine. I have a 400 fhp ford 302 and CAV headers, muffler and tailpipes.
Am I likely to pass the noise limit of 101db? Is it wise to quieten the exhaust using super-traps before the test?

Hi Syed2,

My own testing probably does not match the test conditions of the SVA but I did get measurements for both the stock CAV system and the stock system with SuperTrapps at various RPM levels. See the previous thread: "What type of mufflers are you running? [Re: Neal] #57692 - Fri May 13 2005 07:32 PM."

Good luck with the test. Be sure to let us know the outcome details.

Supertrapps may reduce the noise, but will they pass SVA? It looks like they would fail the sharp edges tests. Anyone know?
