Went for a trip down near Southampton today and wound up at Southern GT.
HIGHLY impressed by the chassis design. They are putting together a REALLY nice car at the moment, lowered eng/box, Webers, ZF 'box, etc etc. I particularly like the widened cockpit. Not that much bigger that it doesn't look original, but it's little touches that make a BIG difference to the finished car. The built in roll bar is a fantastic idea as well. It's braced at the back to make it pretty darn strong, but doesn't detract from the finish of the car at all, you'd be hard pressed to know it was there at all.
The guys have a really nice set up down there, it seems they have all the tools to make pretty much everything they need!
I must say (and I'm not in the market for a discount here) if you're thinking of getting a '40, IMHO you really should take a trip down for a chat and a look see.
