Rep Power: 25 | 10ft X 10ft photo offer Hope this is ok to post here and not the off topic section?
OK guys, this is a one time offer and NOT to be missed.
How would you like a full photo quality colour print of YOUR GT40 on the wall of your garage/shed/lounge? (approx 10ft square) for the sum of just £25?
A friend of mine works for a printing company in London.
They have just had installed a brand new (prototype) printer capable of doing one off jobs.
During the next month or so, they will be running test prints before they take on serious contracts.
During this time, my friend the engineer will have free reign to print pretty much whatever he wants to "test" the machine.
Now this machine can accept pictures up to 1GB, so you can imagine your camera phone picture of your car is going to look pretty cr*p.
However if you have (or would like to take) a really spot on picture of your GT40 at FULL resolution with a REALLY good digital camera (I would guess you need several million pixels) Then the end result should look good.
I'm gauging reaction at the moment, but there are a couple of things to bear in mind.
1 you will have to supply the image(s) on CD
2 you will have to pick up IN PERSON from my home (upminster, Essex) as I'm NOT sending a 10ft toilet roll tube through the post.
If anyone is interested and can get the CD to me within the next week or two, please post here.
No payment will be due until the picture is done and can be made upon pick up.
Needless to say, I will not be held responsible should there be a malfunction with the machine and we can't do these.
Simon
PS. This is not a commercial offer, the money is just a contribution towards the cost of paper/ink. No-one's gonna get rich here! |

Sounds like just the thing for the garage wall, and having blown up a few pictures to A2, a very generous offer. I presume you are not insisting that it must be a GT40 ?. Perhaps you can advise on where to send the CD. Is a quality minimally compressed jpeg OK or do you need a raw or tiff file ?.
Presumably the disk needs to be fully formatted.

Rep Power: 25 | Re: 10ft X 10ft photo offer Hi guys,
glad people are interested.
I'll speak with my friend towards the end of the week and pm everybody who posts.
I would guess the machine can read pretty much anything, but I'll find out.

Though I might have to ask someone else who's getting one to collect it for me and pick up somewhere slightly closer to home - any offers?
Unless you're off to the Isle of Wight again anytime Simon?
Cheers

Thanks for the offer Brett, but if I go to Stoneleigh with my 40 (& possibly a passenger) I don't see a lot of room for the 10ft poster!
I was really looking for someone else who was ordeing one, and lived somewhere closer to me so I could pick it up at a later date in 'the truck' (my old Range Rover). Obviously willing to pay towards fuel costs of someone who collects for me.
Or maybe I should consider being the one to go & collect them all & drop them off throughout the South East on my way back home?
Cheers,
Max |

I thought you were going to change your name to Mad Max and have a rocket launcher on your roof on the way home from Stoneleigh

How many feet do you need to be back from the image for it to come into focus? If this is anything like the 53ft tractor/trailers I installed color, photo images on, you need to stand back some distance to get clarity. It's like zooming in on a photo when it goes pixelated, you need to zoom out to get a clear image. If you submit a poor quality image it's the old saying - garbage in, garbage out. I could be wrong but it doesn't hurt to ask.
I would check first, you're not spending much but first decide if you can move the couch back 20ft to appricate it.
Geeez, good luck convincing the better half to put this in any other place but the garage!
Ron that's a hell of a reminder-
Chris |
