Nice comparisons! Still, as nice as the new car is, it's just too big and doesn't have the same edge that the original does. Did you get to do a side-by-side driving comparison too?

By all accounts I have read and heard...the GT is a fantastic sports car. The fact that it's a bit larger and heavier should not detract from that fact. It was never
intended to be a "copy"...but an updated version and they
succeeded brilliantly. I wish I could afford one.

I love seeing the side by side comparisons of the new GT's compared to the some of the replica's. Somewhere on the site there is a similar photo comparison between a new GT and an RF. It goes to show you how really well a replica, and, giving credit were it is due, the original body design, has held up. People who aren't familiar with the GT40 often think I am talking about a hot rod when I tell them I want to buy a car originaly designed in the early 60's. It is only after I show them some pictures of some well done replica's that they get it.
Joseph, your car looks terrific by the way. You are a lucky man.
