Tail of the Dragon

Road and Track has an article on a road US 129 in North Carolina that is commonly known as the Tail of the Dragon. It has 318 curves in 11 miles. Does anyone have any experience with this road, what are your thoughts? I know someone drove with a GT40 on it because on tailofthedragon.com there is a picture of a GT40 being followed by a motorcycle. Thanks

I live in Knoxville and drove the Dragon last summer in my Cobra with about a dozen other Cobra owners. There was some spirited driving involved. It is very exciting. There can be a lot of traffic, especially motorcycles, and cops. There are many good web sites that will give you all kinds of details. Just google "tail of the dragon".

It is awesome, hit it a few times on cycles, nothing like it on public roads!

Photo guy www.killboy.com who is on site taking your pic as you race thru. Go to his site - lots of shots - I was there this past weekend on my bike. Reported over 500 minis from all over North America last weekend.
