need help urgently

hello all.just bought a gt4o which needs a bit of work.it currently has a beetle 1600 engine on a beetle chasee.can anyone tell me a good engine to replace it.i dont know anything about the make of the kit except the previous owner thought it was called a bigbore.cheers pete

Can you post some pictures? I doubt it's a GT40. More likely a Valkyrie or Avenger.

if it's a valkyrie, i just might have an original manual for one laying around.

most of the old ones like that used either a volkswagon, porsche or corvair engine - the original VW chassis would be hard pressed to mount a v8 into it. it can be done (aka the 350 chevy into 914 porsche, 911 porsche converstion from renegade hybrids) but it would take a lot of fabrication.

It is actually not that hard. KEP can make just about any adapter you will need. RX7 rotoray motors are one of the best choice because of the small size and low weight. Good luck.
