I was finally allowed to pick up chassis #83 made by GT40 Australia at the port of Seattle on Monday. It was very exciting. People were slowing down to take a look. When I have her sitting in my shop it hits me....wow i have alot to do! My son is trying it out for size and the cat (Alex) is just plain curious.
Thanks Mike, it will be an emotional ride I'm sure.
Robbo, directly out the door is my other garage with my milling machine and lathe. This shop was purpose built for my GT40. Not sure how i got the wifey to buy into it.....
Speaking of the wife
When I let my lady know I had decided to build a 40 she was ok about it but still a bit skeptical right up until we arrived at DRB to pickup #68 and she was able to see and sit in a finished one and from that point on I could not wipe the most enormous smile off her face if I tried.
She has since that day been pushing me to complete my build as fast as possible so she can take #68 out for a drive.
One of the reasons I have had to ensure that we had fully adjustable seats.
( of course I did not want adjustable seats ) but I will just have to put up with them I guess.

Did it feel like I told you? Seeing your car for the very first time is an experience like no other. Enjoy it for a day or two. Once you tear into it, it will change to a different feeling of accomplishment. Let me know if there is anything you need to know. I may not have all the answers, but I will probably know where to get them. Again congratulations.

Thanks Dimi and Bill. I did get the wife involved by taking her to see and feel a built car. She's into it now. Bill, I'm just now starting to get over the gaga factor. The wife walked in on me sitting in the car with a beer in hand and took some photos the other day.
