Is This a Factory Built Car?

Dear All,

There is a GTD40 for sale at Dick Lovett Ferrari in Swindon.
I'm thinking of buying it.
The link to the advert is as follows:
Dick Lovett Classic FORD GTD40
They have no information regarding its origins.
The car is finished in red with black BRMs.
The body work looks well fitted but the engine bay and the interior need some work.
The engine is curiously described as 4800cc
The car was built in 1989
Chasis number is 4011588
The car registration number is KYC 649D

Does anyone know any of this car's history?

Re: Is This a Factory Built Car?

That is a 1988 chassis number (drop the 40, it doesn't belong), chap called Halliday ordered that car. It looks quite standard in the engine bay and IMHO seems strong money for a car without all the toys/upgrades. For that money I know someone selling a much modified car so you wouldn't need to spend more to get the toys most people want on the car. If you PM or email me your number I will pass it on, not looking for any fees just helping a mate sell his car. But I do like the red with all black wheels on this car.

I would also query the engine size. Chances are from 1988, that is a marine 302 engine but you need engine numbers to confirm that for sure.
