Re: Story Of A GT40

I also enjoyed reading this and it reminded me that as enthusiasts we don't have to own a 40 to have a profound impact on someones life like this. It's all in how we react to someone who shows interest in whatever hobby we pursue.

Sad story, but a good story.

Great to see original pictures and documentation.

Thanks for spotting this and sharing it with us all.

Cheers,

Re: Story Of A GT40

Great story. Anybody can have an experience like this by contacting the Make-A-Wish foundation. A few years ago the Nor-Cal Pantera Club had a Make-A-Wish day, and about a dozen Pantera owners gave rides in the mountains to a like number of terminally ill little kids. It's an enormously sad thing if you think about it too deeply, but if you live for the moment (like they do), the smiles on the faces of the kids and their families are literally priceless.

BTW, the car in question is P/1005, which according to the Spain book, was sold to the USA in the early 1970s and then totally destroyed in a garage fire shortly afterwards.

Great story, I actually found it on the web a couple of nights ago also while searching for original GT40 photos.
