The 427's are Windsor based not FE's, but if you want photos I can shoot them tomorrow.

Timewise it would be almost exactly as quick as driving to Monterey; you just stay on I-5 a bit longer and then turn west on 580, to 680, and you're there.
I hope to see you there!

Rep Power: 9 | Re: Largest gathering of GT40's in Ramona USA! Hi Mike, I would like to make that event, it is a pretty long drive in a GT40.
Here are pictures of the two 427's and also my personal favorite, my 347.
the 427's are similar, both have Accel fuel injection but the blue car has an iron block, the other is a Roush 427 IR w/ alloy block, basically the package they sell for Superformance. I was able to use the serpentine drive by rerouting the AC and heater hoses and am very close to running except for the huge delay in getting an RBT for the car.
Both 427's have a 3.70 ring and pinion(vs 4.22 in my car, same as a Pantera), this results in a 35 mph/1000 rpm in 5th(clocked with a new Scion) so at 6,000 rpm you have a theoretical 210 mph. The 427 pulls that gear effortlessy and I think the 347 would also, I would recommend the 3.70 over the 4.22 to most GT's. The engine in the blue car was in another Gt40 before with a 3.20 ring and pinion and that was too extreme to be usable.

OK, assuming they all aren't yours, how many CAV owners come to your garage

Is your 347 with webers a crate motor and if so who built it? Tand L?
Also the seats you show in the back ground, are they cobra with your personal touch?
Thanks

Rep Power: 5 | Re: Largest gathering of GT40's in Ramona USA! Hello Ian K and Jimmy M, I have a few friends with GT40's but I work on Roy Sayles demonstrator car and I do some of the engine and trans installs on CAV's that he sells.
The blue car is Roy's and the silver car minus the gearbox is Carl Staubs(now registered on this website).
My engine is a 347 short block(minus cam and lifters) from Ford Racing, it is a Sportsman block(beefed up 5.0 2 main bolt block) with Probe forged pistons, rods and crank.
I assembled the engine myself( I can't call it a build, there was very little machine work on my part). It has all the best stuff, AFR 185 heads, Crower hydraulic roller cam, SVO lifters, Comp Cams rockers and push rods, a belt drive(which I probably won't do again, I have always had little niggling oil leaks and it really limited my water pump choices), Fluid Damper, Mcleod steel flywheel and clutch assembly, IDF webers, Armando pan and an MSD crank fired ignition. ARP studs and hardware everywhere.
The seats are modified Sparco Racing seats and fit the car very well, and that is my personal touch.
Sorry for my late replies but Ramona has been the epicenter for all these fires in San Diego County and I have been very busy!
