You ask for help but you wont help yourself.
I dont know why you guys are entertaining this time wasting.
Just buy it and if it is a heap of shit then it will be your own fault for not doing the correct homework.
LIKE PHOTOS and advice from those who know what they are looking at.
My advice the tranny is a Renault box not a Maserati.
If it is a Maserati box buy the car anyway.
Sell the Mas box and recover a good part of your money then put a Renault box in it.
Hopefully it will get sold and put me out of my misery.
Good luck

Rep Power: 12 | Re: HEEEEELP, what is a really nice KVA worth? Since you asked, the RML GT40s had ZF transaxles - correctly mounted, Mathwell or Ford Motorsport 302 V8, Weber 48IDA carbs, Stainless Steel bundle of snakes - Hayward & Scott I believe, lightweight fabricated steel rear uprights, proprietary cast bellhousing, right hand drive with rod action right hand shift, proper brakes and rose jointed suspension all around plus an astonishing level of fit and finish.
A roll cage was fitted adding strength to the chassis, suspension pickup points were moved to optimum position using state of the art computer modeling. Very cool and effective cars.
Ray Mallock built a few cars in between Aston Marton and Touring Car race programs. Quite a bit of influence on the RML developement work done for Saleens S7 came from the GT40 project too...
Cheers

stolen car? (kidding )
just my tip:
I wellknow what is the effect to see a gt40 for real, and that is really terrific.
Too often u disconnect the brain and just look at her shape loving it as a playmate at first sight.
If u wanna buy the car,u probably will drive and enjoy it,so let guys here will tell u what are u going to buy )early kva had poor brakes coming from even older scrapped cars.
At the time they helped me (even just with pics) in recognize some italian ones (which I remember a kva simply awesome spotted in Modena)claimed by owners as originals, and also pictured on magazine cause anyway too nice vehicles.
Help us in help u
Best

Rep Power: 21 | Re: HEEEEELP, what is a really nice KVA worth? You said its RH Drive & distributor was angled toward driver---Then it is NOT a Rover/GM215 or any of its versions since those dizzys angle over to LHS at top.. SBF 302 dizzy has a very slight angle toward RHS. Frankly, just take a pic of the engine bay & trans, rear uprights ,chassis section etc, save you and us a lot of trouble, you dont have to show any rego plates etc.

Rep Power: 1 | Re: HEEEEELP, what is a really nice KVA worth? OUCH, very good point ... when I indicated drivers side ... I was thinking about a normal american car ... sorry about the confusion. I do think the engine is a GM 215ish
Strange that nobody has commented about the stress cracks around the lip of the wheel wells ,,, normal |

Rep Power: 21 | Re: HEEEEELP, what is a really nice KVA worth? Going by your photos above and from the exhaust port layout I am 99% sure its a Buick/Olds/Rover V8 based engine as you have mentioned.
Purely a guess ,but the rear suspension appears to be based on a production car trailing arm setup rather than top/bottom links & radius arms.

Rep Power: 9 | Re: HEEEEELP, what is a really nice KVA worth? If that is the car you are looking at I would ask if it is a manual or auto.
Take a look at the gear lever and console(looks like an auto to me).
They do not state if it is manual ?one would only presume.
