Exclamation Walter Hayes GT40 book & items at auction tonight - should I bid?

Hi all

Just been down to the local auction and there are a load of Walter Hayes items selling later tonight. One lot that interested me was a copy of 'The inside story of the fastest Ford' and what looks like Walters retirement present from Ford Europe's design department. It's a concept car model on a plinth that was presented to him. The lot also includes a signed photo of everyone he worked with at Ford Europe design.

So the question is, should I go down in an hour or so and have a bid on the lot? The book is what really interested me but as Walter Hayes was involved with the GT40 program the other items might be worth having.

Don't know much about the guy so any thoughts?

Got outbid. As nice as the lot was I wasn't willing to pay more than £100 for it even though I am sure the concept model retirement gift is probably a one off

Trev,
Did you get a pic of the concept? I could have tried to get the guys here to identify it

Sorry, should have takena picture. It was a very curvy smooth GT car. Looked a bit like a GT70 but much smoother. Had silver disk style wheels like this:

It also had a rear wing that jutted out at the back about halfway up the body like a 911 tail

The colour was 2 tone. Top was deep Ford Blue and the bottom half silver
