Dbr gt40 mk6 1968 ???

Hello, i have a big question..

Currently i build a 1968 GT40 Project but i don't have Motor and Seats.
It is a 1968 Model MK6 make by DBR.
As it is in the bill of sale from the previous owner.
But..... i don't know, who is DBR. And MK6.???
I know MK one two or three...but not six
I can not find anything on the internet or in books..

Who can help me...

Thanks

if you show us a photo of the chassis in the engine compartment either Pete or I can tell you if it's a DRB chassis

and the Mark6 must be a "typo" / error

DBR GT40 MK6 from 1968 ???

Thanks....

But in the Bill of sale from 2002 there is the manufacturer DBR... not DRB !

The ID Number is DBRXP6006 from 1968

I make photos soon.

Sorry, my englisch is not good...

Regards Thomas

Unless DRB has changed their name, or sold to someone else, the chassis from that other thread is indeed from DRB (at least it's exactly the same as mine and mine came from DRB).

so, either a typo, or something's changed at the factory!

That document is the registration from Alabama - so I'm not sure if some of the data is correct, or "provided by the owner" - - by that I mean, depending on how long ago the car was first registered (appears to be registered in Alabama in 2002) - some of the data may have been more "liberally" provided by the original owner / builder and not come off of actual manufacture's data.

now, I'm not accusing anyone of anything here - -

but there is obvious incorrect data - There never was a mark 6, I seriously doubt the car was actually built in 1968 (most replica manufacturer's did not exist then!! - I don't remember off of the top of my head when KVA started, and the older Fiberfab - built on a volkswagon chassis).

So, the DBR could just be a typo, the 1968 could be a "built to replicate a car from 1968" description on registration.

So, without a photo of your engine compartment, I can't say for sure if it's a DRB or another manufacture chassis

sorry,

There are folks with far more knowledge on other chassis no this board and I'm sure they can help too.

Thank you Dave.

Exactly what I think also.

But my problem is, i need a title to register the car here in Germany.

I want to rebuild the car.
Perfect and clean.
I want to powder coat the frame and re-make all the aluminum plates.
I will create a new 351w one with aluminum heads.

Best greetings from Germany

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Ok, this is definitely not a newer DRB chassis from when Peter Ransom has been owner of the company.

I don't know the full history of DRB prior to Peter.

Maybe Pete can get some data on the first chassis ?? Pete?

(you might send him a PM and ask if he'll find out).

At this point, Im not sure what chassis you have,

Gentlemen of the forum - - who can identify this chassis???
