GT40 flying

Here is a video I took to encourage all the backyard builders out there who think they haven't got the space to build a GT40. Nick Brough's Southern GT (http://www.gt40s.com/forum/gt40-build-logs/25085-southerngt-no6.html) was created in a very small shed in the back garden. Last week the time came for it to fly over the house and meet the UK road for the first time. Engine, gearbox and body to go back on and then off to paint (livery to be confirmed but it might be some kind of green!)

Mike thanks very much for your excellent camera work, lifting advice , and hand holding / calming influence on the day. We caused a bit of a stir amongst the natives. ;)

You make the rest of the build sound simple, but as it must be 6 years or more since you decided on the colour of my car (very good choice by the way) these things can take longer that you think :)

 My heart was in my throat the instant I saw the crane 'cause could just see the worst happening. 'Headline in 'local paper: "GT40 creates novel passageway into builder's living room." :stunned:

My wife said she wanted to be out on the day it was done. Guess I did not help things the day before by telling her these guys were going the job.

Hi Larry,

Not a Morgan but a 1935 Brough Superior, Hudson chassis, running gear and straight eight side valve engine, English W.C. Atcherley coach built drophead coupe body.

I knew the spare tire 'cover' didn't look quite right...now I know why. But then, my knowledge re: all things Morgan isn't all that much in the 1st place (obviously).

Oh, look what I found! Some guy named Nick Brough posted it 24-November 11. 'Car looks identical to the one in your garage! 'Looks like it could even have the same 'plate number. Imagine that.

('VERY nice...)

Fabulous! Reminds me of the fellow that scratch-built his own Lambo Countach in his basement... Took a bit of excavation and foundation work to get it out however...

Nice job Nick!

Good job! Just goes to show if you want something enough, there's always options.

In my opinion, I would've had a roped tied off (not sure what its called) on the car incase the wind kicked up.
