Kva 'build manual'

Hi,

I've been having a clearout and have come across a photocopy of a 'Build Manual' for the KVA.
It has 21 pages of text and drawings,

If it's of any interest, get in touch and I'll post it on.

Cheers,

Geoff.

Dear Geoff,

I am getting ready to build a RCR GT40 Mk1 and could use any help I can get. Thanks for your consideration.

Hi John,

Seeing you are about to start on a RCR kit, I'm not sure the KVA Build 'manual' will be a lot of good to you.

The KVA dates back to the earliest days of GT40 replicas - Around the mid 1980's.

The 'kit' comprised a chassis and a body and these instructions

The first kit - The A type - had Ford Cortina front suspension mounted on the original front subframe and swing arm rear suspension. These instructions refer to this model.

It is about as far away from a RCR kit as it could be.

I think they could be more misleading than helpful!

Cheers,

Geoff.

Geoff,
I am in the process of reassembling my KVA and would love to see anything you have, my memory has not been the same since I hit 50.
Sincerely John

Hi,

John S - I hope you won't be offended if I post these to John B. I really think they wouldn't be much use to you.

John B -Please PM me with your address.

Cheers,

Geoff.

Might actually be nice if that manual were scanned into PDF form and kept here for safe keeping and future reference.. Is that possible?

Also - I found this site interesting...

Geoff.
I would be interested in seeing this manual as I didn't think Ken ever produced one. I thought his mantra was 'if you need a manual you souldn't be building a car'. KVA never produced a complete kit, just a chassis and body so I can't see what would be in a manual apart from maybe some suggestions.

Geoff, if nothing else, I will scan it in..
It seems that most multifunction printers these days have the ability to scan..

Brian,

That's why I have headed this KVA 'build manual' in inverted commas.

I must have acquired the pages when I had my KVA.

It was a choice between throwing it in the bin, or passing it on to somebody who might have an interest in it, even from a historical/memorabilia point of view.

The first page reads:

Dear Customer,
These sheets are to help you to start collecting the parts.......

I have scanned it, but am having problems attaching to my reply.

I'll keep trying.

Right - Hopefully heres everything.

Good luck!

That's my kind of build manual! "make bracket to suit"

Now a days this has morphed into "find somebody who can tune your fuel injection for you".

Got to love the good old days!!!! Thanks for posting this.
