Carbs And/Or Webers??

It appears that most of the 289 Mach I GT40s were weber carbs but were most of the Mach IIs with 427s Holley Carbs? Most of the videos and pics I have seen, seam to be 1 or dual carbs on the later GT40s....

True Dat. Webers don't flow enough to support 400+ inches, and they're a pain in the butt. So all 427's used either one big Holley or two smaller ones....

Good point Mike. The 427 side oilers were running so good in NASCAR back then with a single carb (probably with the NASCAR rules) they probably decided why change in road racing race cars especially with all the time to dial them in.

A couple of instances where the Webers were fitted to FE engine cars- the AMGT car that spent time as a transmission mule at HM & others and the J-Car that Miles was killed in had Webers fitted at some stage during the test session. IIRC both those setups were 58mm versions which would be good reason in itself to use Holley as they were not cheap.
