Ford GT gets first GTLM win in Monterey GP

I sat down to dinner today at a local Miller's Ale house and was pleasantly surprised to catch the last 30 minutes of this race.

Have to say I much prefer the headlights on the race version to those on the "street" version. Am I alone in this?

All new Ford GTs are V6 EcoBoost engines. There is no "V8" version for street or track.

I know the original plan was v6. However the tranny problems in the first race Ford sais they were planning a conversion for the LeMans racers. Hence the question.

No, always and still a V6. They planned some trans upgrades but the engine for the class Ford wants is turbo V6. And Ford wants the connection to the production EcoBoost 3.5 so the V8 would be counter productive as well as not allowed.

I was at the race. Both cars ran strong. The sound they make coming on and off throttle is pretty neat. Ford also had a yellow production car in the display area.
