Prospective purchase

Interesting find. Looks like a good start with a lot of the needed parts. Price is $26,700 us. Not so sure about value. Others can better tell you what other kit manufactures price their kits.

What ever you decide good luck and keep us up to date if you build.

I would estimate another £20k to £25k to finish including cheap spray over
Needed seats, lights tail lights radiator instruments seats loom mirrors tyres as BF Goodrich not acceptable at IVA etc

Then IVA and registration. Unless you can prove everything is new you get a Q plate which in turn would knock about £10k of the sale price

Just my 2c worth having bought a similar project 12 years back

Looks like a lot of work to me. Is KVA still in business so parts are available?

No, KVA have been out of business a long time.

Not many got finished, the quality was, Meh! And they were just bits in a box rather than a bolt together kit we expect nowadays, This looks like one of the better later ones, but still not an easy project to take on and half finished older kit cars are notoriously half finished for a jolly good reason.

As previously mentioned it’s been advertised for months and must be a bargain now as it’s been reduced by £5k. At least they’ve now pulled it out of the corner of the showroom for some decent photos!

I’d compare the asking price to what you’d get (with receipts needed to claim a new build) from SGT or Tornado. The engine may have been rebuilt, or is it a fresh coat of paint? Even if there are receipts to prove the new parts, it looks like it was done over 20 years ago, so would need a full strip to check everything.

KVA stopped trading years ago, so no direct manufacturer’s support, but it would still be possible to get it through the IVA, but registration would be potentially an issue if you want to avoid a Q-plate. If you’re capable of virtually scratch building a vehicle and used to sourcing parts, then go for it, otherwise keep saving and buy from an established manufacturer
