Re: High speed lift problem

Thanks MkIV-J6 !
I´ll take your word for it !
Sounds quit right !
It is good to know for sure.
Many rumours came because of "identity" crisis during their heyday´s..
But many cars have gotten their records straight by now.
It is great to avoid missunderstandings.
As well as people do not need to worrie as much about authenticity these day´s..
But there are still a few issues to be solved...
Ford has been a large object of spreading these false rumours because of the politics back in the 60s.
Along with others...
Your car looks astonishing, simply..
Looks like it has same bull´s eye vents as the MkI´s etc...
Just in front of your left hand(sitting behind the steering wheel)
Is that right ?
Did all MkIV´s have the same ?
J3, J4, J7 as well as your car seems to have them.
Or were there several ?
Seems to be something likewise on top of the dash ?
Did they have a pedal box similiar to the MkI,II etc...

Re: High speed lift problem

My car does have eyeball vents. Vent on top of dash is for defrost. John Allen's The Ford that Beat Ferrari has best pics. Second edition of David Hodges book, the Legate book, and the Latest Shelby register have J5/J6 correct.
Best

Re: High speed lift problem

Hello, MkIV-J6 !

Thanks,
Got the books and some..
Just wondering if it was made that way on all the MkIV´s as i do not know.
And if they were the same type as in the MkI´s etc.
Have not seen a MkIV in pieces...
To see the connection....

Re: High speed lift problem

Hi Chris!
Very,Very,Pretty. What's even better it looks like you use it. It's great to see it parked there. In 1967 Max Kelly was the crew chief of J6 and I aquired from him a lot of documents, photos, and his arm band. I like a quote from the travel papers he was given by Ford. "Remember to get a haircut because you are representing The Ford Motor Company as well as The United States of America." I'm off to ride a one horse power "vehicle" in Mexico, have a good week.

Re: High speed lift problem

Chris,

Indeed, a very fine car... looks fantastic..

Re the front nostrils, was looking at an early KVA mk 2 the other day & the twin nostril was much better that the GTD item, the nostrils are wider & deeper, giving the car a better 'look' aswell as helping cooling.

Did you make your panel or was it bought? such a design must help reduce cabin temperatures (over the GTD item) plus you keep the preferable look of the twin nostrils with the cooling efficiency of the single item..
