Re: CAV GT in component form

Geoff,
Car looks even better in the Flesh! So much so that it tipped the balance, bought the next CAV mono 109 from them last week. I am living between you and the CAV shop, so without Ou Kapseweg will probably be in with Jean and John more often than you. Look forward to perhaps picking your brain a little as things progress.
Cheers
Stephen

Hi Stephen.
Glad to hear you have joined the ranks. I am overseas at the moment but will give you a shout when I get back in 10 days or so. When do expect delivery?

Re: CAV GT in component form

Geoff,
I expect to get the car about 5-6 weeks from now....... Interesting that the Audi wouldnt hold up to the 390 hp?? I trust that the you have had little problems with the Audi/Porsche hybrid?
I am leaving myself for Angola for couple of weeks. Sure that we can hook up after that.
Happy flying

Re: CAV GT in component form

Hi Stephen.
I am back in town for a week or so and can be contacted on 073 3866163.
Do you know about the track day at Killarney on Saturday the 16th? I will be testing my GT from about 0830 and I expect there will be a bunch of exotic cars pretending to be GT40's. I am at home most days and look forward to
your call.

Re: CAV GT in component form

I have just fitted a Renault 21T gearbox to a CAV, a little antiquated you may think, but the GTD racers in the UK have developed and raced them for years and useing up to 450 hp. The Renault installation simplifies a lot of the problems experienced with the Audi, has better ratios, and fits the chassis much better, allowing for the necessary chassis cross member under the box.
