I would be interested to know what paint system has been used on existing CAVs from the factory i.e. single stage, two stage (base and clear). How many CAV owners are aware of what paint system was used?
Tony, my CAV has a water based light metallic blue (LeMans blue I believe) which I think was a factory paint job. It's not a good job, unfortunately - some irregularities and shows some of the fiberglass fibre texture. I definitely need to get the car repainted - will probably go with a non-metallic color/clear system.
Cape Advanced Vehicles used a PPG base / clear sytem with an extra tough clear coat. I posted the paint codes and tint bases in the CAV Talk a while ago. Call me on the toll free if you need help.
Cheers
