Front sway bar removal

I'm planning to put a slightly different bend in my front sway bar to get it into parallel with the lower A arm. It looks like there are black fiberglass covers in the radiator well riveted in place over the bar that hinder the bar removal . Has anyone removed their sway bar and did you have to remove those covers (or anything else) to get them out? Before I start drilling out pop rivets I want to be sure there is not an easier way.

As always, thanks.
