Rep Power: 26 | Re: KVA GT40 Part Built Well, for a start, it's not a Mk III replica it's a MK I replica but that's a Good Thing!
The seller may think a MKIII is worth more......
If you land it for £4.5k then it's probably a reasonable deal but there's a pile of work!

Rep Power: 9 | Re: KVA GT40 Part Built Guys,
hear what you are saying but in this particular case, the mk3 refers to the KVA chassis, not to the body shape, so it is a mk3 KVA chassied mk1 GT40 bodied replica.
I had the option of a mkIII bodied KVA when I bought my DAX, but the beautiful proportions of the mkI body won me over.

When I asked many years ago if anyone had ever tried this I was met with a deafening silence, so I guess this is one hybrid idea that'll stay in"what if" form.
Thanks for pointing out that, as one would expect from someone of my advancing years, I only read one word in 10 in case I tire too quickly.

I'm down to 1 word in 20, just luck that I happened to hit on the right one that time. Interesting MkIII MkI idea, but lets keep it quiet, wouldnt want a visit from the Inquisition now would we.

There was someone here in the early days of the forum that did just what you've said. And my CRS addled brain is telling me it was Ronnie Spain. Could be wrong though.

Nothing bad with the mk3, is a wonderful car too, but too many prefer the mk1s

So Chris Melia had a MK3 with his own chassis
He sold it to Rob Beddington and Ron voted for a MK1 and Chris made a set of front and rear clips to fit the chassis. And both sets were sold to Rob.
Rob has sence sold the car and clips so I am sure someone has a setup that could make a MK2 front and MK1 tail!
