| Re: Porsche 944 box Hello
It is not a 01E. It is a 016 which often comes often with limited slip diff also. There is a problem using this gear box as it originally is mounted at the back of the car and engine, clutch and starter is in the front of the car with a torque tube connecting them together. No machining done to fit clutch fork, slave cylinder and realease bearing. Gear shift linkage is also different to a fwd gear box, better for a gt40 though. It has a different casting at starter mounting position. However buying this unit, if price stays reasonable, and IF it has limited slip diff and use the best parts in a Fwd 016 gear box is a very good idea.
