I still have trouble getting attachments to attach; not the photos themselves, but making sure the right ones end up in the email. So here goes...

For Sale: a pair of Cibie 5 1/4" quartz-iodine lights, purchased form Aardvark Int'l several years ago. These were intended to be the driving lights for my GT40- they were to go in the lower recesses in the front clip behind the Plexiglass covers. However, I found a set of vintage big Marchal driving lights that are similar to what went in the LeMans GT40s in 68 and 69, and I liked the look of those better, so they were installed. These have become surplus.
The Marchals lights also take the same bulbs as the oblong headlamp units, which makes things a bit easier all around.

These lamps are clearly intended as driving-light only units- there are only two conductors going in the back of each one, and the bulb holder is not the same as a standard H4 at all; the bulb holder is held in by a crossways spring wire, and the bulb itself slides into two metal clips in the front of the holder. The lamps take H2 bulbs and I have a pair of Narva H2 bulbs with 55watt elements new in the boxes. The lamps have never been installed, and the bulbs have never been lit.

The rear of each lamp has three lugs, each equipped with a plastic insert, so that the lamps can be mounted to a flat surface which has had a circular cutout made for the rear boot of the lamp and the wires coming out of it. These would work well for a GT40; you would have to either mount the lamp to the flat front surface of the lower recess, in which case the lamp would actually sit about 1.5" in front of that surface, or create a recess with a wall on the back to which the three lugs would mount. In any case it would be easier than what we just went through to mount the (much larger) Marchals.

Note that although these are 5 1/4" beams, I don't think they can be used in a standard four-light system, as they wouldn't fit into regular high-beam headlamp buckets.

Price, with insured shipping inside USA, $320. PM me if you have interest, or email through site. Thanks in advance for looking. They are nice lamps, I just don't need them now and someone else's GT40 ought to wear them.
