I put a set of Hoosier slicks on the car, took it out for a test run on the road, Rolled on the power in 2nd and it blew the cover off the back of the trans. Before this, the tires just broke loose, I found the weakest link of the Quaife...the aluminum rear cover which takes the thrust of the pinion is too weak. In the process it chipped the teeth on the 3rd gear set and ring and pinion. LS diff is ok.

I don't get on here much so if need be call me at the shop 920 989 0260 ext#1

I am open to any offers.

Thanks,

David

Did you receive a replacement from Quaife or are you going with something different?

Blew the cover off? How does that happen? Did it break the cover?

10K miles on track or street? How much HP / TQ?

Has anyone heard of any other failures with this box?

We purchased a new one from RBT. The rear end cap which takes the pinion load is made out of cast iron, alot stronger and much thicker.

I will try to get some pics on here when I get some time.
