Rep Power: 54 | Re: RCR #010 Build Progress Fran is supplying some pickups, but I am making a big order of AN stuff from Jegs. Since I'm doing AN stuff for the Jensen I figured I'd get enough extra to make these similar for the JH as we are re-constructing its fuel system. Man I've spent a lot on mail order parts in the last couple of days, no doubt, with a big Lola racing order from Summit Racing earlier this week as well as lots of Jensen racing stuff. This is an expensive hobby! |

Rep Power: 54 | Re: RCR #010 Build Progress I plan on using something like this on the Jensen tank which is why I was asking. Fran has stuff for the Lola cell/tank, and, I think he has some new style I saw on another thread with the sender and pickup on one plate which is a good idea.
On the 40 are you using a tank selector switch, or, do you plan to tee them into one fitting and then off to the pump? You might have already answered that question with pictures so I'll check.

Rep Power: 33 | Re: RCR #010 Build Progress They will tee together and then go to the Webers. I'm using two check valves in each line to avoid fuel transfer from one tank to the other

Rep Power: 33 | Re: RCR #010 Build Progress The coolant tubes in my car are made from .065 walled 6061-T6 aluminum tubes 1-1/2" OD. The transitions from the straight tubes to the radiator are made from 4 90º elbows made from the same type and wall thickness material. The bends are very tight - 1x the radius.
I bought the 90º elbows from Woolf Aircraft Products. The elbows are very nice quality and the service excellent.
I put the elbows in the car where they will be. Since the legs are longer than what is needed, I marked where they needed to be cut. I then cut then to the proper length with a hacksaw, filed them to make the ends smooth and straight, and cleaned up all the burrs with some 150 grit sandpaper.
My soon and I made a weld jig from some plywood sheet and strips of wood. I loced where the pipes needed to be and glued the strips in place. Now, the welder simply needs to tack the welds while the tubes are in the jig. He can then remove them and finish the weld.
Beads will be added to each end of the tubes prior to welding them together.

Killer looking work! Looks like you are a short timer now. I am wondering where you finally decided to mount your wiper motor.
Cheers

Thanks

I could put that photo on the lounge room wall as a piece of automotive art.
Keep it going.
Cheers,

Rep Power: 20 | Re: RCR #010 Build Progress The car looks soooo good - a bet you are chomping at the bit to fire her up !
Now, are you sure that you have enough rubber at the back ?? !! "Bloody Hell" (as we say down here) !! With those tyres & that engine, you could rent yourself out to the local road building authorities - half an hour's fun & the road would be stripped, ready for resurfacing !!
Kind Regards,
Peter D.
